Donald Trump met with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey at the White House
Trump chirped after the meeting that “there was a great meeting, a lot of topics were discussed about the platform and the world of social networks in general, and I look forward to continuing an open dialogue!” • Just earlier today, Trump squeaked on Twitter against the platform and claimed that it was “very discriminatory”
US President Donald Trump met today with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey at the White House. Trump chirped after the meeting that “there was a great meeting, a lot of topics were discussed about the platform and the world of social networks in general, and I look forward to continuing an open dialogue!” And added a picture of the meeting.
According to a report in the Wired magazine, an e-mail sent to all Twitter employees today informed them that Dorsey was going to hold a closed meeting with Trump for half an hour, and he accepted the White House’s invitation to hold the meeting. Colin Crowell, Twitter’s vice president for public policy, and Lorraine Claverstone, director of public policy at the company, will also join the meeting. “There is no pre-determined topic for the meeting, but we expect a discussion on the health of the public discourse on Twitter,” the letter said. As part of Twitter’s efforts to “create discourse” on the platform, it is working to stop bullying on the platform, to clean it up of fake users, and more. “Some of you will be very supportive of our meeting with the president, and some of you may feel that we do not have to comply with it,” Dorsey wrote in a follow-up message to the original mail, which was also sent to all the company employees, according to Wired. “I believe it’s important to meet with heads of state to listen and share our principles and ideas,” he added. This is Dorsey’s first known meeting with Trump.
